Won't START!!!
« on: August 28, 2006, 06:02:08 PM »
I'm pretty sure my problem is because of a virus. 2 days ago, I got broadband, so I was all excited and of course, started downloading things u usually can't with dial up. Suddenly, a message popped up saying my computer is infected with a trojan. So then I started downloading all this anti virus programs, which I assume was a big mistake because it slowed down the computer even more. Then, I just decide to turn the computer off by force because it was too slow, and try a restoration disc. When I start it up, it detects the disc but, it wont run it while windows boots. Instead, it goes to the welcome blue screen ( where it says windows is starting up) and just stops there. It doesn't block, you can still move the mouse around, but it just doesn't go any further. ANY help would be MUCH appreciated

You may have FUBAR'ed your system so badly you just need to reinstall. Do you have a real Windows CD?

nope, I tried that. Still stops at the welcome screen. Can somebody just tell me how to get the restoration process going BEFORE it comes to the welcome screen?
