New to group, need help with DSL home network question
« on: October 08, 2008, 01:53:17 AM »
Hey all

I am looking into getting DSL service for my home.  My question is, I've seen some products out there that are wireless routers but also contain a DSL modem within them. Is there a proper name for these devices? I would like to get a 802.11n router with a built in DSL modem, but at a loss on how to google for that.

I was looking at getting the Netgear DGN2000 (http://www.netgear.com/Products/RoutersandGateways/WirelessNRoutersandGateways/DGN2000.aspx), but on their website it says it won't be available in US stores for the next 2 months.

Is there something out there that's comparable to this, should I wait for this DGN2000 or is there something someone can suggest? I've heard that gigabit N routers are supposed to be the best, but are there any with a DSL modem built in?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Tom
