of course, if you buy a new one, then it would fix the problem, but you must install video card drivers. but for your current problem, you should be able to change the resolution from the icon in your toolbar. easy and simple to fix.
however, you did say after playing battlefield vietnam right?
then your graphic card might have overheated and got overheated, hence the bad colors
