How virus attach it's self with a file??

Hi Dear peoples!!!

Few days a go A worm was attacked on my pc. it ifected all *.EXE file on my

computer. but when i cleaned that files the file don't fun further. So form

that time a question rasied in my mind that how a virus attach it's self with

a file and the size of file also increases/. Some one can expalin me it

techniqly.

And which one is the best antivirus of 2008. which dont' drag down the

speed of PC and also clean files instead of Killing them (which is easy for

anit-virus but difficult for that man who created a project)

Worms attach themselves to files or they disguise themselves as other innocent files.
