Computer Screen VGA? HDMI?
« on: October 15, 2008, 02:15:59 AM »
Hello guys, I just bought a replacement computer screen for my computer.
I was wandering if the the VGA input will work in my computer.
At the moment I have a HDMI cord pluged into my computer.
It is plugged into a port next to the another port with a HDMI to VGA adapter.
I was wandering why do i have 2 ports for computer monitor input?
If i plug a VGA cord into my VGA adapter will it work?
I'm not even sure if the adapter cord is connected to my graphics card.......

Please help

So you've got two VGA ports in the back of your computer?
either you've got two cards or that card you have got supports two monitors. I can't see it not being connected to anything.

There's no harm in trying, plug the new monitor into the VGA port and it should work.

No, they are both HDMI ports, Its just that one port has a HDMI to VGA adapter.
Will that support a monitor with VGA cord?

yes. If you have a HDMI port and a VGA cable then as long as you have an adapter then it should be fine.
