Saving pictures off frozen computer

My computer with Vista has just about frozen to death...one of the only things I can do is to access DOS in Safe Mode

Is there a way to use DOS in Safe mode to copy some important pictures and documents onto a flash drive?

Vista does not have to be running in order to save your data...
Hook it up as a slave drive on a working machine and copy/burn to your heart's content.
