keyboard button is stuck

my left shift button is stuck on down. i removed it and tried to put it back in but it just goes back in stuck . i cant click with it.

I am thinking that if keyboard is of any significant age then - time for replacement ...... something from newegg.com or techforless.com perhaps.

Usual reason for sticking is spillage of something stickly but if not that and something that'll clean up, then may not be too much else you can do.  Hard to tell entirely without the problem in front of me to look at - tho I have over the years managed to deal with key problems successfully a time or two.

No nothing is sticky on my keyboard.
When I try to stick my button back in, it just snaps right to the buttom and stays stuck. It doesn't go back up or its simply goes into a state where i cant press it. .

There goes my good keyboard. I bet Ill find nothing like this keyboard again...

A full disassembly can be worth a try to inspect internally... could give you a better chance.

If that is no go then - it's time for new.

I got a set, works like a charm.

the shift key usually includes a metal flange that acts to hold the key up- if you don't have that metal flange in the exact right position, it will stay stuck down.

I'd just get new keyboard, though.

Yea I got that metal piece and I put in there how its supposed to be but it just snaps right to the bottom. Stuck.
