Problem with disc drive

I have just tried to burn some photographs onto a disc and am getting the error message "You don't have a disc drive capable of burning files to CD or DVD".....I have copied photos on to disc many time on my laptop and have never had this problem.

Any idea's?

Does the drive read CDs?

Try the freeware CDBurnerXP ver. 4.2.3 -->http://cdburnerxp.se/

Let us know what happens. You could have a bad/weak optical lens in
your burner.

thanks i Will try that......i think the problem occurred when norton was uninstalled and reinstalled a few weeks ago, would system restore work do you think?
