    « on: November 01, 2008, 07:10:35 AM »
I had setup a passweord for my username an such an it asked to make the folders private on the network an I said yes so that no one could look threw it while I was gone to the other pcs.  So now I cant share any folders back an forth an its greyed out to where you make it unprivate an it says that to undo it, its located under my user name an it wont allow me to undo this.

sounds like they were encrypted and therefore only work for you.

right click the folder and go to advanced and see if you can unencrypt the files.

I was told to try this, http://windowsxp.mvps.org/undoprivate.htm

i did so an it generated this.

\\Robert-yo1a1ycql\ new folder (2) isnt accessible.  You mitght not have permission to use this network resource.  Contact the administrator for this ever to find out if you have access permissions.  The network path wasnt found.  When I try an look at the file from another machine.

I agree, quite humourous. The best part is that regardless of who tries to help or what their suggestions are, claims rise about "already tried that" or "didn't work last time" or "there must be a better way" Oh yeah, I just thought of a good solution.
