    FREE SUPPORT???
    « on: November 01, 2008, 09:17:47 AM »
Which Companies offer FREE LIFETIME support? (HP, Dell, Compaq...etc. ???)

Also, will the free support be valid to me if I buy a USED laptop? Meaning, will I get the free support if I buy used?

    THANKS!!

Not sure you mean when you say 'Free Support'.

I know Customer Support is free (when you call the manufacturer/company and ask for help and such).
However, I think you may be talking about Warranty.

Basically, a computer's warranty lasts for however long the agreement was (usually about 1 year). In short, within a year of purchase the computer can be repaired for free if it is damaged/non-functional. If something happens to the laptop after the 1-year warranty, you will need to pay to get it fixed.
Chances are that a used laptop won't have a valid warranty, but if it does, ask the guy for the documents.

I have an old Sony Vaio desktop. (Purchased in December 2003)  If I remember correctly, I called once for support and they wanted to charge for help.

Someone told me only HP and Dell gave free customer support.  ???

Just trying to see which manufacturers to stick to when I search. (I will be in need of free customer support, no doubt!!!  :o

              Yes, I know that.

Let me try it this way....

Are there certain BRANDS of Laptops that offer Free Technical Support?  For example, Sony does not give free LIFETIME support but HP does. Who else gives LIFETIME FREE SUPPORT on their Laptops???

I would have to disagree, free lifetime technical support, as in phone or email, isn't something that's always offered.
