Computer no longer responds to certain requests- Please Help!!

Lately when I'm in a website and there's a coupon to print once I click on it (the link)my computer does nothing!  Today I was trying to sell some items on eBay and there's a picture box to click on that will always open up my photos folder so I can upload a picture and now when I click on that it doesn't respond.  Any suggestions you can give me would be greatly appreciated.  I have Windows XP...I'm also not really computer savvy, so please talk to me like I'm a kid.  THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not a solution but - have you tried to run these sites and links with Firefox?

Maybe if you use IE it has some problems and so perhaps a browser change might help.  Also - how can we define ''lately"?  Week ago - month ago?  Any major changes, downloads, new apps etc?

What is your internet connection?  How long had it?

Just maybe some more on the history of this could help.
