Monitor is wavy/blurry on half of screen
    « on: November 06, 2008, 11:28:13 PM »
My monitor is wavy and blurry on half of the screen.  It is an Emachine T series.  The monitor is 15" LCD.  The problem just happened after restarting the computer.  I tried to set the display but that only helped some.  I did reinstall the video driver (ATI) that helped a bit, now only half of the screen is wavy.  The problem is on the right hand side of the monitor.

I still use this monitor but it hard to read, any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Also can you try resart computer than booting time you can press F5. Than you choose enable VGA mode.

I did hook it up to an other computer and it worked fine.

I did try F5 and that made it worse.  The icon on my desktop were huge.  I restarted and hit F5 again and use the option to "go back to the last good config"

I did that and I am back to the wavy screen

Any other suggestions.  The settings for the display are 1024 by 768 on plug and play monitor on ATI RADEON Xpress 200 series.

Where did this Driver come from and is this onboard video or a card ? ?

On a side note i suggest trying a different/ more wattage PSU to everyone with an eMachine...

The only driver you should run for that video is on the Driver CD that shipped with the motherboard...it'll be labelled MSI Drivers.
If not travel to their site and enter the MBoard info and grab a fresh video driver and re-install it.
ATI drivers will give you fits.

Before I start looking, I'll repost patio's question:
Where did this Driver come from?
What model of eMachines T series is it?

The driver came from ATI.  I do not think it was from a disk.   The monitor was really hard to use until I updated the ATI driver.   It got better but is still hard to read one side of the monitor.
