I bought a Presario and formatted it and installed Windows 98 se I am only getting 16 colors max I have a old rage 3d card I want to replace the orignal video with do I just pull the old card and plug the rage card up and see if windows automatically loads it?

If it is an older card then no... You need to install the drivers first...

W98 doesn't have video drivers for your cards, so for the old or new video, if you load the drivers, you'll probably see the proper color depth and screen resolution choices.

You just don't have the Plug and Play capability...
