Takes hours to print

Hello,

I am using a Dell Insperon with windows XP.  I have an HP C5180 printer on our wireless network.  The printer is wired into the router.  My wife and I both have laptops.  Hers prints immediately.  But when I try to print it takes several hours before the printer prints after I hit print.  I will actually send a file to print and later, after supper, while we are watching TV it will just start printing.  Any advice on how I resolve this issue?

Do you have another printer to see if that one works?  It may be a problem with the laptop connectivity to the printer.

Try using a wired connection, it's possible your wireless connection is too weak for the file to get sent to the printer.
Also, if the file you try to print is very big, it will take a while to send over to the printer.

I only have the one printer...  and the wireless conection to my computer seems to be strong.  The files are not big either, 1/4 page in word still takes a very long time.
