    Just formated
    « on: November 16, 2008, 07:24:14 PM »
    XP HP Pavilion 7950
    378 MB RAM
    AMD

Just formated and when I boot up I get these errors.  When I format I always have a file or two that would not copy during the process.  (when I say format I mean redong windows XP).  Should I just format again or what do you suggest.

srclient.dll and framedyn.dll ........ hmm these are not files I find familiar right now. (to add - the first is in my system32 folder but not the second)

I guess best might be to start over and clean up and put XP on again - unless others who post think different.  Not sure tho why these files should be problematic if windows originals anyways.

BTW - your RAM amount is pretty marginal as IMO XP wants about 250Mb just for itself and so you'll be using a paging file a lot.  With mem prices good these days see if you can add a Gb or more when you get things running - it'll help later.

Your optical drive/cd might need a clean and/or your hdd may be failing.

Links to Processlibrary for srclient and framedyn..

    Good luck.

I wouldent stay with that installation of XP. A few missed files in the XP installation may seem like its fixable now, but who knows what else you are missing.

I would figure out if its a problem with the XP CD, or if you need to replace your drive...

Random data corruption starts at the Installation...

This file is used in the initial install but should be gone after the first re-boot...as others have stated you may have a faulty install of XP.
What type of XP CD is this ? ?

Personally- I've only gotten this error with my "felt-pen" edition of Windows XP...
