    Error massage on screen

    when I boot the pc I get a message saying:

    Not ready reading drive A

    Abort, Retry, Fail?

    What is the reason for this and how is it resovled  ???

      Remove it and power down.
      Re-boot.

        I did what you said, I now have a name and password for windows box, how can I get passed it?

          I am doing a course on computer maintenance, I asked around if any one had an old computer to practice on, and a Friend gave this pc to me, I can assure you they is nothing underhand going on, the computer is not the best, and if I blow it up it wont matter.

          The computer wont recognize that a mouse is plugged in, so I having trouble getting anything done, I have got it going sort of but is need of a lot of upgrading

          I still haven't figured out how to get my computer to give ME a massage.


          Depending on the version of windows installed- with 98 and 95, you can often simply press cancel to close the dialog.
          I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
