    Removing Active Desktop
    « on: November 15, 2008, 01:45:15 PM »
I currently have XP 2003 Media version and by accident, I enabled Active Desktop. I have followed the 'remove checks' from the checkboxes as per the standard advice, but AD does not disable.

I would like to get back to my original standard windows desktop display, but can't work out how to do this.

Any help or advice to resolve this would be much appreciated.

    Best wishes - Ollie

You have to click two things after the check box. Apply and OK.

      Dear Geek,

      Thanks for the reply

      Done this with no effect.

Also tried via 'add / remove programmes' as I'd picked up advice that IE should appear as a programme and that there should be an optin to remove AD.

However, it doesnt appear in the listing, so I'm still stuck!

      Any further advice appreciated!
