    Sorry if we did this wrong.  Can't figure out how to send the requested files and other way.  If this delays assessing, maybe you could be a little more explicit (for newbies) in explaining how to post replies.

    No worries, you did it properly.

    Open HijackThis and click on the "Scan without saving a log" button.  Look for these two entries and place checkmarks next to them:

    O13 - Gopher Prefix:
    O15 - Trusted Zone: http://*.download.windowsupdatecom


    Close all other windows/programs and click on Fix Checked.  That aside, your HJT log looks pretty clean.  It looks like the scans cleared up your infections pretty well.  Are you experiencing any problems?

      Everything seems great.  We thank you all so much.  I really was at wits end.  Now I know there is hope (computerhope.com).  I have already told some firends in the US about you.  Last night Microsoft downloaded the updates and we installed them just now.  No problem.  We also updated defender.   I will certainly recommend you to everyone who has problems.  Again, thanks to all who helped.
