    browser trouble
    « on: November 18, 2008, 09:28:04 AM »
Hello all. I use Firefox as my browser. I am also the admin on my computer. The problem is that my wife and son can't connect with Firefox anymore, it says that it can't connect. They have to use explorer to surf. This is a new problem to us. I can still connect on my page.  I have Vista as my os. I have the free AVG 8, I have the free Anti Maleware, I have the free Superantispy, I have the paid reg cure. Please help if you can, thanks. I have the HiJack this also.

    Have you tried reinstalling Firefox?

If you have and it still doesn't work, try Firefox (safe mode)
Note: To do that, go to Start --> All Programs --> Mozilla Firefox --> Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode)

Yes, they do use the same computer but different accounts. All this mess just started to. We never had this problem before.

Hey Carbon, sorry it took so long to get back. It won't work in safe mode either. I haven't done a reinstall yet because I can get on it. Should I try to reinstall anyway?

Get rid of it. No need to touch registry, at all.

As for Firefox, try to create new profiles for your wife, and a son.

I created a new profile Broni but it didn't change anything. I am the administrator on the computer and Firefox works fine for me, just not the others. Is this normal? Thanks for you're help.

Try creating new Windows profiles for them: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151

I have Vista for an os, the link you provided was for xp. But I already tried creating new accounts for them if that's what I needed to do, it still didn't work. Any more tips?

                Have reinstalled it yet?

Also, have they tried opening it using the command prompt?
Or, tried using it without safe mode?

Your next option would be FF clean reinstall: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox
