    external antenna for wireless laptop
    « on: November 20, 2008, 07:01:33 PM »
Wow lots of info on this site especially for a newbie.I tried to find an answer in the search but came up with nothing.I have wireless internet in the house and would like to have it in the shop which is about 150ft away.I have a HP laptop and it shows that I am connected but when I try to access the internet it always times out.If I stand outside I can connect.I was wondering if there is an external antenna I can plug into my computer to run through the wall or maybe linking another router,if that is possible.I have a d-link n router. Thanks, hope this wasn't to long winded.

Thanks for you reply. That a cool idea.I'm going to see if I can find the parts. My computer has built in wireless, any ideas on how I connect to my computer .What kind of cable do I use and does the length have any effect on the receiver. Thanks
