    Windows service not running

    henever i tries to run the hekp and support tab or syssteminformation through programs>assessaries>system tools> or throug the run tab bu typing msconfig,ot says "Windows cannot open Help and Support because a system service is not runnung
    To fix this problem,start the service "Help and support" showing Help and support error"

    One thing you can try:
    Go to Start/Run and type in sfc /scannow and hit Enter...
    Have your XP CD handy as it will ask for it....
    Let it finish, remove the CD and re-boot.

    Have you been customising and/or playing with turning some services off by chance ? ?
    Many of them are co-dependent and need others to run properly.

      Sfc is not runnung form the run tab neither scannow

      Go to Start --> Run --> Type msconfig and press Enter.
      Go to the Services Tab and make sure Help And Support is ticked.

      sfc /scannow........then hit Enter.

      Note the space between sfc and the / slash.

        it works or not i am not sure

        i have tried going for help svc fix and registry entry,it somehow worked but when i copied a file pchealth folder to my pc under system32,it worked but it doesnot search the items typed i.e. the search tab is inactive.

        pls help me
