    Question Reguarding Slow Boot Up
    « on: November 23, 2008, 01:01:06 PM »
    Hi,
I have an HP desktop (a6142n) I got it about a year ago. Recently I updated my Macfee anti virus (it expired) after I did that my computer has had a few issues they are as follows.

    1) When I shut down my computer correctly or restart it when it first turns on and you get the the first HP Blue screen where you can press f10 and stuff like that. (sorry not sure what its called) Anyways it takes like 5 mins for it to load once it does this and vista starts up I have no problems. This has never happened before  any ideas

    2) my external hard drive its called mybook or something its got the initials WD on it. Is not being  recognized by my computer I have unplugged if for a while and plugged it back in but nothing is happening.

I think these are from when I installed MacFee antivrius on my computer from ComCast. Ideas?

Hello, try doing a check disc. Go to C:\, right click on property>tools>check disc. Select both options and restart, after restart. Once again to C:\ right click on property>tools>defrag. This is a simple troubleshooting step, but sometime it works. Let us know the out come.
