I have a dell inspiron b130 and it is freezing up when i turn it on. I want to know if I have a windows xp cd if i can install that on this computer too because i have one that its already on? I just want to clean my hard drive.

If you don't mind loosing everything you have on the laptop and you don't want to try to fix it, you can format the drive and reinstall XP.

    Don't judge Windows laptops just because you don't like Dell.

    I assume HP's never had problems then....... ::)

      Sorry, and every computer that's ever existed has had a problem, only Dell has had far more problems with their computers than Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and Apple.

      ok guys the computer like i said before didnt come with cds. I was wondering what buttons to press to wipe everything clean. Someone told me that dell inspiron doesnt come with cds and it takes 2 buttons to wipe it clean. Can anyone tell me what those are or how to do it?

      It would probably be a Factory Reset function.
      This will erase EVERYTHING on the hard drive and bring the computer back to first-start conditions.
      Are you willing to do this?

      Can you not borrow a Windows CD?

      yes i am willing to do this. I dont care whats on the computer but i have a windows cd but it says i cant put it on more then one computer. I mean will they find out if I do this even if its registered to the same person???

        Another thing you might do is make sure you have a valid sticker on the bottom of the laptop-- you can use that number as the registration number (thus using the same cd to install multiple legal copies).
