    Vista hangs at loading screen...
    « on: December 02, 2008, 01:27:39 PM »
Couple things here. I just built my computer not too long ago, and had the symptons of an underpowered PSU. I am in the process of getting a new PSU, but this one should at least start up the computer...

Anyways, Vista stalls at the loading screen. I left it there for hours with no luck...
Even when I make it load from the last successful boot, it still does the same.

    HELP!

    Nvidia Geforce 7050m-m V2.0 Mobo,
    AMD Phenom Dual core,
    WD Raptor Sata hard drive,
    2GB (1 gig sticks) RAM
    Thermaltake M9 Blue LED case.

You haven't listed enough specs for us to guess at this...
    PSU  make and wattage
    HDD capacity and free space
    Which Phenom
    Whose RAM and specs
    Etc......

You need a new PSU...don't buy a 20 Dollar special.
      Still not enough info though...
DLoad and install Everest Home which will tell you more about your hardware than you'll ever need to know.
Post the Computer Summary info here if you wish.

        Uh, no it won't.

Get a bigger power supply, then we'll talk.

Also make sure that the power supply has proper connectors for the motherboard.  If the motherboard is running an AMD Athlon 64 or Phenom chip, it'll probably require something like this:

        24-pin power connector
        4-pin +12V power connector

Part of the problem is most people don't generally deal with computer problems. So for most they think that close enough is good enough.

Just wanted to say that I got my new PSU and all is well with my computer. Started up first time and I am a happy camper 8)

500 Watts did it. I don't know why I didn't realize this sooner..
