    Windows XP Upgrade Adviser.
    « on: December 08, 2008, 09:29:30 AM »
    Hi,
I am going to upgrade a works PC from Windows 2000 Professional to XP Professional (My boss doesn't yet trust Vista). I have been looking for a copy of Windows XP Upgrade Ad visor but I cannot find a safe website to download a copy. Microsoft seem to have the Vista version but not the XP one anymore.

Please can anyone point me in the direction of a safe site where I can download a virus-free, spyware-free version?

    Thanks

You may want to check this out:

Note Windows XP Setup automatically runs the Upgrade Advisor tool when you upgrade from a previous Windows operating system to Windows XP. You can also run the Upgrade Advisor tool manually by clicking Check System Compatibility on the Welcome to Microsoft Windows XP page that appears after you insert your Windows XP CD-ROM into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.

Also, you can go ahead and run your system specs by us and we can tell you whether or not XP will run smoothly on the machine or not.
(such information include RAM, Processor Speed, Hard Drive Capacity, Hard Drive Free Space and Graphics Card)

      ;)

Remember, try to get your computer to conform with the recommended specifications or better.

I thought that I would report back that the upgrade went very smoothly. The user now has an xp PC to play with.

Thanks for all your help! It is always appreciated.
