Six-Pointed Star Freezes Computer

I know there was a topic like this before, but I noticed it wasn't really solved, and I really need help with this problem. A little 6 pointed white star keeps showing up and freezes the computer after maybe 10-15 seconds after doing something besides launching the internet. The computer is unfrozen when I ctrl + alt + del and switch back into the same user, but it happens again. Up to 5 stars appear and I dont know how to make it go away. Even right now as I am posting this, there are 3 of them in my taskbar. If you try to go over them and right click them, they either disappear quickly making it literally impossible to do so, or freeze your taskbar. It is very annoying and kind of scary. Does anyone here know what to do or how to help? Thanks.
