Adding another hard drive
« on: December 13, 2008, 06:58:00 AM »
I have a desktop running vista ultimate. I have some remaining space on my present drive.
I want to install UBUNTBU and have heard it needs to be kept separate from Windows.
Question. What issues can I expect with an additional drive?
Is it a good idea?
I enjoy the forum and thank you in advance for any advice.

You can add a new hard drive and format the drive from disc managment . Do you have a UBUNTBU cd?or are you going to download it? Takes appx 8 gb space

If you only have "some" remaining space on that drive it would be better off on another drive anyways...
Or if the new drive is bigger than the existing one then "clone" the old drive to the new one and put Ubuntu on the smaller drive...
Windows needs lot's more room to breath compared to any Linux flavor...
