You're really better off to ask your Firefox questions at the 'Zine, at
http://forums.mozillazine.org/ That is home base for all the Mozilla programs.
Some add-ons and some related programs have had notorious problems mixing with Firefox, going back years. For example, Gmail and Firefox do a terrible dance together. They work, but people have trouble with them all over the net.
Trouble is, Firefox, Gmail, and Google all share a philosophy of being forever in development, and they will
always have problems, because they are
always experimenting to the limit of what they can do.
That's not a bad idea in itself. But it has meant, over the years, that even when things went well, they never went well for very
long. It was like all these guys became easily bored with perfecting anything at all. Instead they would get things about 70% done, and then go and invent a new toy—and get
it to about 70%, and then invent another.
That leaves you and a million others trying to figure out exactly why some combination doesn't work. Firefox doesn't take responsibility for add-ons, and is quick to point out that
Firefox is not responsible for add-ons. That is a really hypocritical cop-out, because it dodges the point that Firefox owes its existence to add-ons. Both Opera and the little-known K-Meleon are arguably better browsers if you dismiss add-ons.
Anyway, try the 'Zine. I spent a few years there. I used Firefox when it was still Fire
bird. But the Firefox attitude was always don't-care; Firefox was in it for the money from the beginning.
The browser that was
not in it for the money was K-Meleon. But it is not for the multitudes. It's for a small group of people; that's all.
Good luck.
