    Wireless connection help
    « on: December 16, 2008, 01:21:52 PM »
    I have a Linksys BEFW11S4v1.50.11 router, which is a 2.4ghz 802.11b.

Now I just got my new laptop, which has a Dell Wireless-N card.

When I try to connect to my network, I can see the network just fine, and after double clicking it, inputting the correct password, it loads for about two or three seconds and then says: "Windows cannot connect to -network-. My old laptop has absolutely no problem connecting to it, and I heard that N-cards could downgrade in order to connect to older routers. Is my card broken or what?

    Any help appreciated.

Nevermind, I managed to solve it.

Somewhy this laptop wont accept a WPA TKIP security. I had to downgrade to WEP  :-[.
