    Type of hard drive?
    « on: December 19, 2008, 08:45:16 PM »
Does anyone know what kind of hard drive this is? It came from a Dell Inspiron 8600. If you can identify it, could you recommend a good 100 GB one?

Anything by Western Digital, Seage or Maxtor. Personally I'd steer clear of Samsung.
You'll need PATA (IDE) and not SATA.

By the way, your drive might still be under warranty. I'm too lazy to check it for you, but you can look it up on the Hitachi website.
