How can i tell how much Ram my laptop wil hold in each slot?

My laptop is a Presario C700 Notebook Pc, It has 2 memory cards in it now that are 512 each , I was wondering if it will hold 2gb cards in each slot and dont know how i can tell.

    using motherboard analysis tool may help
    everest is a good tool.u can try it

    Welcome to the CH forums.

    The C700 user manual is here - see Chap 1 Product Description Page 2 which I think indicates that support is for 1Gb in each slot giving a total of 2Gb max.

    Goto Crucial.com and run a scan to confirm.
