    ccsvchst.exe
    « on: December 23, 2008, 10:14:27 PM »
I have 46 processes running on task manaager, using 538m/4722m, and growing.  I'm trying to find out which ones of these I can delete, and how to delete them permanently.  I'm going to try to do 2 a day.

The current question is ccsvchst.exe. And is there software I can buy which will do this for me, that I can trust?

    Hello! Welcome to CH!
With regards to your problem, I think you have an infection. But to be sure, read this and wait for a competent OP. Here: Malware Removal

Thanks, JerryHeavyArms.  I doubt I'm infected, because I have an updated Norton scanning regularly,

BUT I followed the links anyway, and found more good information than I can handle all at once.

The info I took away this goround was that Windows Defender is a legit antispyware, and that has replaced my Webroot, which expired last week.

And I thank you for leading me to that, and I'll be back.  Happy Holidays & best wishes.

      ccsvchst.exe is a part of Norton. http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/ccsvchst/

Real time virus scanners don't pick up on everything.
