groove msvcr80.dll

Ive been trying to instal software for a toy that uses the computer during installation i get the message ( Couldn't find library MSVCR80.dll ( required by C:\rogram Files\Microsoft Office 12\GrooveUtil.dll) ive tried to run repair from the Microsoft Office disk but get the message another instalation in  progress.
My friend tells me everytime she boots the computer she gets the message preparing to instal appears even though she's installing nothing at the time.

Do you know why when the computer boots the window always opens with the message preparing to instal when there's nothing being installed.
