Sdram Ram and DDR video Compatibility

Can Sdram Ram memory on the motherboard and DDR video memory on the graphics card work together?

    jbloney.... I'm not 100% sure ,but I would think that if the MOBO had SD Ram in it ........and it is compatible with the vid card that things should be ok ......Your MOBO manual should tell you what types of vid cards it will support .

    I used to have an onboard graphics card. that mooched off all my RAM but if it is an AGP card is has its own memory so doesn't combine by default however in my frequent trips into the bios i have knoticed things (don't ask me what because i can't remeber). But that would be a good place to start

    Thanks dl65 and kablam for your response. I think I'll give it a try. It does take an AGP card. If it doesn't work, I'll give it to my daughter. She has DDR memory on the MB and a AGP 64 mb DDR graphics.(I'm sure she'll appreciate the upgrade)
