    "Control Userpasswords2"
    « on: January 11, 2009, 07:54:05 AM »
I recently tried to disable the password request on my windows xp machine using the prompt I found on this website:

    http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000536.htm

    "Control Userpasswords2"

Now when the computer switches on it will not let me passed the login page and keeps asking for my password. I never used a password previously. Help! Has anyone got any advice, I'm not sure how I can get back into my computer.

    Thanks

How do you disable it....if you never set it?

You most likely added a password.

Unfortunately, we cannot help users bypass the Windows password.

      Hi,

I'm certain I didn't enter a new password. I've only ever used the Administrator login in the passed. Thanks for your suggestion anyway, I'll follow the link you gave me.

If for some reason you are locked out, and it stays at the welcome screen, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, then login as
      Username: Administrator
      Password: Administrator

if that doesn't work, leave the password field blank. (This works on Pro for sure, not sure about home edition though.)
