    Adobe updater exe
    « on: May 22, 2009, 09:12:32 PM »
Hi!  Whenever I start Photoshop/Adobe reader, the updater application screen pops up.  It's so annoying.  I did try to go to the location it specifies like C:/program files/common files... to remove the updater.exe file, but the same case still happens with the message like "Updater fail to run, pls install again".
How can it be fixed?  I simply don't want the screen to ask me for update every time I run the Adobe product.
     ???

Don't delete the file! That will corrupt the whole program.

Go back to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Updater6\ and double click Adobe_Updater.exe.
A window will open and the program will start checking for updates for all your Adobe Software installed. When finished, click Preferences. A window will open where you can uncheck "Automatically check for Adobe Updates", or else just change the updating periods.

Updating is a good thing, though, and it should be left on.
