Getting Vista to NOT ask Permission
    « on: January 17, 2009, 10:30:05 AM »
Vista 64 bit is constantley asking me permision for programs to run. I trust them already just let them run lol

Also it is preventing programs from stating up that I want to run upon windows starting up.

How do I change these settings?

If you dont know DOS, you dont know Windows...

Thats why Bill Gates created the Windows NT Family.

Thanks Nick that did the trick. But is there a good Vista book out there with all these tips and tricks in it? The only books I've seen have been too basic and don't talk about messing with settings. I have a few more questions and don't want to bother this forum with them.

However annoying the UAC is it's quite good at stopping malware. This is a replacement for the standard UAC that remembers what you tell it is fine to run so it after a few days it stops asking you for routine things. smart UAC replace.

Also we don't mind you asking us things about tinkering with computers, it's basically what we're here for.

          UAC doesn't stop anything.
Most computer savvy people, turn it off, less computer savvy people, click OK anyway, and on a top of it, they complain, it's annoying.
In both cases, IMHO, UAC is useless.
