I have windows xp with a HP pentium 4 and dsl. I ran the full recovery on the computer a couple of times and even used my 10 cd full recovery disk. When I start up the computer the desktop comes up and get my browser but can't get anything to come up using the address block. Keep getting the error message send this error report in. :-/

yata, yata, yata:

Please explain what you mean by "10 cd full recovery disk" and "address block."

Also, please write down the error and tell us every word of it.

Hi doc, I've been busy and just getting back to you. More details yes. Well the 10 disk set is HP reboot full recovery disks I got from HP. Works well but won't get rid of virus's. found out that I have w32.wallz and downloaded from Mcafee the latest patch for getting rid of virus's and put it on my desktop. I need to run updates after that. Started to run it last night but computer crashed again before it was down scanning. will try again tonight when I get home. I'm i on the right track here? thanks

Yata:

The w32.wallz worm (AKA Net-Worm.Win32.Small.b) is relatively new as it was discovered in Feb. 2005.  To remove it, you should follow these instructions:

1. Disable System Restore (Windows Me/XP).
2. Update the virus definitions.
3. Run a full system scan and delete all the files detected as W32.Wallz.
4. Delete the value that was added to the registry.

Detailed info. is found here:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.wallz.html

IMPORTANT: Do not skip step *any* of these steps.  If you do not feel comfortable editing the Registry (step #4) let us know and one of us will explain it to you.

Blessings to you!
