Antivirus 360 program
« on: February 01, 2009, 12:28:17 PM »
I am running Windows Vista on an E Machine.  As soon as I log on to my home page I get a message from Windows Internet Explorer that says I have various signs of viruses and malware programs.  They want to run Antivirus 380.  I have ran and have Notron programs now.  Norton says I am secure.  I have ran a Norton scan twice and they say everything is secure. Who is right and can I run Antivirus 360 while Norton is still active?  Thanks for any help.  Bob

I am slow so it has been a couple of days that you answered.  You apparently fixed my problem.  After following your instructions I was able to go back to a "restore point" before the trouble.  I no longer get the pop up that lead to the problem.  I run Norton security because I was told it was the best.  Now I wonder?  I talked to them and they said I should run scans and updates more often.  Do you have suggestions for security programs that might give better protection?
Thanks again for all your help.  Bob

Avira,Avast! and Nod32 and a few other antivirus programs are mcuh better then Norton. They are also free, too. Norton digs itself deep into the operating system and mucks up everything- if you remove it and replace it with Avira, Avast!, or Nod32 I can guarantee a noticable increase in both speed and security.

Of the three- it pretty much boils down to which one you prefer, so check them all out and see which one you like best :)

Also- you should still post the logs up in the viruses/malware forum, just to get the OK from the specialists that your PC is clean.
