    Non-Functioning Windows Update
    « on: February 16, 2009, 10:33:39 AM »
I have my system set-up for an automatic update; however, it has come to my attention that updates have not been occuring.  I tried to manually perform an update.  When I do this; the Windows Update box opens, but the screen remains blank (solid white).  I then cannot close it; as it seems frozen, unless I use the task manager.

I've never had an issue like this, so this is a new one on me.  I know the option for Windows Repair/Reinstall is there; but this is something I want to avoid if possible.

    Thank you in advance.

I'd suggest two things, after seeing the log...
      1. Uninstall Dell Support Center - does nothing, but hogging your machine, and often causing some other problems.
      2. Read here: http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,46313.0.html
