OK, so I'm trying to get the .net framework 3.0 up and running (specifically to satisfy a prerequisite for "Games for Windows LIVE"). Unfortunately, it fails every time when attempting to install "Microsoft Communication Foundation" (error code 1603).
This doesn't make a whole lot of sense considering the usual nature of a 1603.
So, anyone have any clue about what I might be able to do here? Microsoft's "Knowledge Base" actually had an article on this, but gave an explanation that didn't fit my situation (according to them, it's because of corrupted previous .net framework installations, which I disproved).
