Replacing a laptop motherboard is a very tricky job....i think you've made a bad choice...even if they did tick you off.

        both thats the thing.  They didnt say why they needed the drive with it.  Yours cause it would mean that he would be probably have his drive formatted or the data comprimised.  But the voiding is a good point.  Sorry I called bad for the most part.  Things happen.  But all considering thought it be out of warrenty.

        The drive has absolutely nothing to do with the bad MBoard...
        Had he asked or wanted info on recovering his data it would have been given... and was...
        You suggested he should attempt to swap out a laptop MBoard...

        See the difference here ? ?

          no cause they wanted the drive thats not something that is usually wanted or asked for when doing this kind of work.

          and a simple remedy was suggested in placing a new drive in the laptop before sending it off.
          I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
