motherbroad

if the battery on a motherbroad goes dead what happens ?     my PC set for about a year unpluged til i got a new cpu processer  put it in  turn power on hear a beeping sound.  but monitior doesn,t or mouse or key is it the battery  doing this

      that ain't the battery.  aside from that they should last a good while.  could be a number of things I would check the cpu or put the one back in an see if it still works.  mite of bent a pin or something.
