    Vista Keyboard Problem
    « on: February 17, 2009, 10:38:42 AM »
I have a Sony Vaio Laptop model no. VGN-NS130D that was given to me by my sister, water was spilled on the keyboard. After letting it dry out I turned it on to find that everything works fine but the keyboard, touchpad, mute and AV mode buttons(they work 75% of the time.)

I ran hardware scan and says everyhing is fine, the driver is up to date.

Here's the thing when the cpu is in sleep mode the keyboard will work and take it out of sleep mode.

Also you can hit F10, F8, F2 and every key works fine while in those modes.

If you put caps on the light comes on while booting up until windows begins to boot.

HELP this is annoying and Sony was no help.

You might trying plugging in USB keyboard and mouse in the USB ports.  This makes the system less portable, but useable for the time being.  Connections could be shorted, even though the water has dried.
