Alright, so, yesterday, there I was, on my laptop, went to shift because the thing was roasting my legs. When I did, I accidentally bumped it off my lap, it fell, hit the floor,. The laptop was perfectly fine until a 230W AOpen power supply fell out of my TV stand above it and smashed the life out of my poor laptop's LCD panel. So, yeah, just a heads up, watch out for falling power supplies, there lethal. Here's a webcam photo of the damage, not the greatest quality, but you get the, uh, picture. (No pun intended)
The good news of this is that my warranty is still good for roughly two years, so dell is sending a box (coffin) so I can ship the laptop off to who knows where and have it fixed. Maybe they'll screw up and throw in a LCD that actually supports a refresh rate higher than 60Hz, man that flicker kills my eyes. Thankfully, the outer coating was not ruptured, so its not going to leak the liquid goo out everywhere. Back in like, the tenth grade, I saw this freshman's school issue dell latitude D620 get its screen busted while squished down in her book bag. Oh man, the liquid crap oozed everywhere, ruined books, the laptop, and even the book bag its self. I'm pretty sure that stuff is quite poisonous too.
