Full-screen programs refuse to stay full-screen

This happens recently with my full-screen games. When I start a program, it
will begin as it should and go to full-screen, but then it will minimize and
return to the desktop. I can see the program listed on the taskbar, and if I
click on it, it will "attempt" to go full-screen, but return immediately to
the desktop.

Anyone with any ideas of the problem and/or a solution??

It's driving me crazy!

HP Compaq 6715b
Latest DivX drivers
AMD Turion64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 2GHz
Windows Vista Biz 32-bit OS
2.5GB RAM

When did it start?

Does it happen with EVERYTHING that is supposed to go full screen?

A few days ago.

Only games that I want to play like CabalOnline and Starcraft.

But previously, they were working fine!

Try performing a System Restore to a few days before the problem started.

Been there..done that........doesn't work. But when I left my laptop alone for 1 whole day and try again, it managed to work again.............surprisingly.....


But I still don't know the *toooooot* problem is.

it's like my laptop is throwing tantrum. It does not work for days......only to work again after I left it alone, sometimes for days.

The thing is, when I want to play my games to de-stress myself, it does not work, further stressing myself.

So I post this question here in this forum hoping to find anyone who know how to solve this problem once and for all.

I've literally almost everything, short of reformatting my computer.

I think this might be a problem with your video card drivers.
Have you tried reinstalling them?

I can't find find my video card in the Device Manager. How to you uninstall them in the first place?

Don't uninstall them.

Go to your computer manufacturer's website, look for Support and Drivers, find your Computer's Model Number and download and install your video drivers.

The only video driver available for HP Compaq 6715b is ATI Video Driver........Mine is AMD Turion64 x2
