American Banks give mortgages to people who can't afford to pay them.

They tell other banks that they're owed X amount of money "So, can you loan us some money"

People struggle to pay there mortgages.

Banks struggle to pay each the loans they've lent each other.

Then the banks made a brilliant decision. I'm gonna call in all my debt. I'm gonna have that house back and that house back. Oh my God, I've got no money, just loads of empty houses.

Bank says to other bank "I lent you some money but now I want it back before the end of the week"
But, I can't do that without going bankrupt"
    "Really, tough"

Thats basically how it started, but what I find really interesting is the way people take offense because some idiots in there country, who don't care about anything except filling their own pockets, make some stupid mistakes (if you can call gambling with tax payers money 'mistakes').

Nearly every country is ran by people who do not care about the 'hoi polloi' but only care about making money for themselves. We are on the receiving end of lies and scams and political diversions on a daily basis.

Whatever the reason is that you believe, we, the people are not to blame.

    (oh God, i've started now)

Rise up, my brothers, rise up

    (>>SMACK<<) Just slapped myself. I'm going. :-X

Wow, you sound like our dear friend, Dead_reckon...sort of.

Except the first part is really just what happened before the great depression, not what's happening now; although I must claim ignorance on most events in the US. Our news tends to focus on- well, Canada. Like people being tasered to death for no reason at vancouver airport, or 15 year olds being shot in the back of the head while in custody for having a open beer at a hockey game.

Yes, I've always thought having a open beer during a game deserved the death sentence.

    Good on 'em.

actually, he was just in custody- he wasn't actually going to be charged or anything.

how the F he ended up getting shot was just another BS story. Apparently there was a "struggle"... which didn't make any sense since, you know- he shouldn't have shot in the first place, and secondly because you don't  reach around to shoot somebody in the back of the head.

The airport incident was more recent, some foreign fellow was tasered pretty much just because he couldn't speak english. Apparently he put his hands up in frustration and that was a "combative stance" And then he was lying on the floor for like 20 minutes before anybody thought, "huh, wonder if this dude is still alive. Nope. darn, oh well."

And then, of course, being dead just added "resisting arrest" to the charges. (kidding...)

Did you hear about the guy in this country Who was followed by armed police onto the tube. It was mistaken identity, but they still sot him in the face 7 times for being a terrorist.

Of course- it would have been embarassing, so they had to make him unrecognizable.
