i have windows xp service pack 2. i didn't buy this computer build it. this problem started recently. first of all my limewire doesn't pop up when i click on it. when i got to internet i wanted to play games and listen to music. I usually go to www.aol.com to play games. i usually play Gin Rummy, when i click on it another window pop up, i have to sign in and it will initialize a table to play for me. the problem is when it is initializing the browser quits automatically. when i double click on the browser again it says shutdown without notice do u want to restore session. i have 3 different browser internet explorer, firefox, and google chrome. this same thing happens when i go to a music site to listen to songs. when the player is initializing browser shuts down. Limewire doesn't even come up when i click on it.

i have Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1, Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 hot fix(EB928366), and Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 and its service pack 2. Is it because i have 3 different framework or something got screwed up. I don't know y limewire doesn't work either.

1. Please, post some computer info:
- processor type, amount of RAM (hold Windows logo key, hit Pause/Break key)
- hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")

i only use limewire for downloading music. thats it. it was workin now it doesn't. i deleted it and re-installed it same thing. Important to me rite now is whats going on with my browser. when ever a internet game or music box initializing, the entire browser shuts down. thats my problem and i wanted to get that fix first, then i'll worry about limewire. i have bitdefender and ran the scan it came up normal. i also regcure ran it some problem occurred and it fixed it. i think.

this site u gave me only deals with SP2 and i have SP3 and don't have spybot search and destroy. I used to have it but it was destroy my computer. i was in my loading tray when ever i start the computer. its eating my memory like crazy. if i had bitdenfender and spybot running at the same time i wouldn't be able to internet because it gets really slow.

Go Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools, and click on Internet Explorer (no add-ons). Same problem?

i have internet explorer, morzilla firefox, and google chrome. they all the same. i never use internet explorer, i just used it to test it out this problem.

all the browser the same.

dude i have been wondering. i deleted windows media player from my computer because when i double click on it would come up. does it have to do with it or something.

Go Start>Run ("Start Search" in Vista), type in:
sfc /scannow
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista).
Have Windows CD/DVD handy.
If System File Checker (sfc) will find any errors, it may ask you for the CD/DVD.
If sfc won't find any errors in Windows XP, it'll simply quit, without any message.
