deliting a xp partion

hey  im dual booting ubuntu 8.10 with xp pro and i want to delete XP partions . How do i delete XP's partition and make it part of ubuntu

    Use the windows xp installer. Their you will find the option delete this partition, create new partition, etc.

      Why not just overwrite the XP partition with a linux filesystem?

      You might want to edit the menu.lst to take Windows off the list and re-run install-grub afterwards, as I've no idea what effect it will have trying to boot from a non-boot filesystem as if it was Windows.
