There are apps like CPUidle and Vcool which yo can Google for. The thing is, they work by slowing your cpu down so your game playing experience is likely to be not as good.
The bottom line is that laptops can get hot when you work them hard. You can get a little stand to put it on that will allow more air to circulate, I suppose. But real gamers don't use laptops.
